Neste novembro de 2022 o teatro carioca trouxe o Mês da Consciência Negra ao público das salas de espetáculos, com uma variedade de peças em cartaz sobre o tema. Desde o primeiro dia do mês, estreando em sequência, se pôde assistir a “12 anos ou a memória da queda”, de Maria Shu com direção de Tatiana Tiburcio e Onisajé, no Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), a “Kondima – Sobre Travessias”, com dramaturgia e direção de Marcela Rodrigues no Teatro Armando Gonzaga, e a “Missa Criola”, de Rach Araújo e Tiago Machado, no Teatro Firjan Sesi Jacarepaguá e no Teatro Firjan Sesi Caxias. Tiveram temporada também as peças “Ninguém sabe meu nome”, com Ana Carbati e direção de Inez Viana e Isabel Cavalcanti no Teatro Municipal Café Pequeno e no Teatro Firjan Sesi Centro. “Repertório Nº 2”, de dança, com a direção de Davi Pontes e Wallace Ferreira, teve apresentações no Teatro Armazém, no Galpão da Maré e na Cidade Universitária EEFD-UFRJ, enquanto “A menina Akili e seu tambor falante”, espetáculo infantil de Verônica Bonfim com a direção de Rodrigo França teve lugar no Teatro Ecovilla Rihappy. A peça “Maria Felipa para crianças”, também para o público jovem, de Paty Lopes com a direção de Milton Filho, teve apresentações no Theatro Municipal, no Renascença Clube e na Casa 178 de Niterói. O espetáculo consagrado “Luiz Gama – uma voz para a liberdade”, há cinco anos em cartaz, com a direção de Ricardo Torres e a dramaturgia e a interpretação de Deo Garcez, teve temporada no Teatro do Centro Cultural da Justiça Federal (CCJF). Acontecem ainda hoje e amanhã as apresentações de “Mask livre”, também de dança, no Teatro Alcione Araújo, com a direção de Denise Zenicola e as coreografias de Denise Zenicola, do Coletivo Muanes e de Sabrina Chaves, assim como “Morena?”, com a direção de Junior Capellonino, no Midrash Barra. Avançam com temporada em dezembro as peças “12 anos ou a memória da queda” e “Mãe baiana”, com o texto de Thaís Pontes e Renata Andrade e a direção de Luiz Antônio Pilar, com temporada de transmissões na internet.
